Before the pros take to the roads, we’re getting in the saddle and leading the peloton!

In June 2027, an unlikely peloton of seasoned cyclists, occasional riders and complete novices will be swapping home comforts for bike saddles, daily routines for demanding climbs, and the routine of their everyday lives for an extraordinary four-day cycling challenge. United by a shared determination to make a difference, this team of ordinary people will take on an extraordinary challenge in support of Happy Days, a Calderdale-based charity helping people facing homelessness and crisis to rebuild their lives.

Starting in Glasgow on Thursday 24 June, our riders will blaze a trail south, taking in the spectacular scenery, gruelling climbs and exhilarating descents of Keswick, Lancaster and Liverpool, before making their triumphant return to Halifax on Sunday 27 June.

But this is no ordinary bike ride!

Just one week before the world’s cycling elite tackle these iconic Tour de France routes, our very own peloton will be putting the roads to the test. We’ll be conquering the climbs, powering through the stages and experiencing the very roads where cycling legends will soon battle for the famous yellow jersey.

There may be no yellow jerseys, podium finishes or champagne celebrations on the Champs-Élysées, but there’s something far more important at stake.

Every mile pedalled, every hill conquered and every pound raised will help Happy Days transform lives.

From the first pedal stroke in Glasgow to the final sprint into Halifax, this is about more than cycling. It’s about determination, teamwork, hope and giving people facing homelessness a chance to start a new chapter.

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or prefer a steady pace, you’ll ride in groups matched by ability, each with its own team leader. With familiar faces returning year after year, the camaraderie is just as special as the challenge itself. Road bikes and e-bikes are welcome

For £300, you’ll get three nights’ B&B, lunches, snacks and your very own Big Ride Home cycling jersey — all part of an unforgettable four-day challenge! But the real highlight?
