Winter Shelter Update

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who responded to our Winter Shelter fundraising campaign – and to everyone who has supported us and made it possible to run this vital service.

Up to the end of Jan 32 residents had moved on from the shelter, 30 of them to longer term accommodation. 23 of these residents had substance misuse problems and 22 were referred for support from Calderdale Recovery Steps.

21 of our move-on residents continue to regularly access our drop in support service, which aims to prevent a return to homelessness. 16 residents accessed the onsite nurse clinic and 17 residents were referred to mental health services.

When temperatures plummeted below zero we accommodated another bed to support people who were street homeless.

Thanks to our incredible staff and volunteers, 3024 meals have been provided for our winter shelter residents and a minimum of 6498 hours of support work.
