Michael Wilson & Son Ltd is a well-known name in the construction industry in Calderdale, having served the area for over 40 years as a building, roofing and property maintenance firm. Here Managing Director Tom Wilson shares their reasons for becoming a Happy Days Foundation Club member.
What motivated you to join the Happy Days Foundation Club?
We have supported the charity in various ways recently and when we heard about the Foundation Club we realised it would be a great way to provide regular donations to support the development of services for people facing homelessness or crisis in the local area.
Why is it important to you as a local company to support the charity?
Our business has been built on strong and lasting partnerships with customers, suppliers and the local community, so we understand the value of relationship building and collaborations.
By committing to a partnership with Happy Days, we not only can provide sustained funding, but also donate our building and roofing services to the charity as and when they are needed. This ‘in kind’ support reduces admin and workload for the charity, and can make a real difference over time. This type of partnership means that Happy Days benefits from being able to plan for the future and we benefit from seeing the impact of our commitment.
How do you see your partnership with Happy Days developing in the future?
We are really looking forward to keeping in touch with the charity and supporting any events and initiatives they might have in the future. Through constant dialogue and by joining forces with other local businesses, we hope to make a tangible difference to people’s lives.
What would you say to other businesses that might be interested in joining the Foundation Club?
We are really looking forward to being part of the Happy Days journey and we would encourage other local businesses to join us in the Foundation Club. The club isn’t just about regularly supporting the charity with funding, but it’s also a great way to network with other like-minded local businesses and it also offers lots of promotional opportunities for businesses too. It’s a two-way partnership and we are really excited to be a part of it. Together we can make an even bigger impact.
