Job Role                       Volunteer and Activity Manager

Job hours:                     35 hours per week

Responsible to:             Chief Operating Officer

Salary:                          £14.50 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Responsible for recruitment, selection, retention, training, and monthly supervision of volunteers.
  • Work with all the Service Manager to attract, retain and develop volunteers with the skills needed to support each project.
  • Lead and uphold the Charity values within the volunteer community. Building a culture around these values.
  • Design and lead on a strategic plan for volunteer and activity services, including budget management and contribution to funding bids
  • Provide opportunities for meaningful activity to support residents to live independent purposeful lives now and in the future.
  • Further Develop the Happy Life Programme mapping out the routes to independence through Happy self, Happy Home and Happy Community
  • Create a monthly Volunteer newsletter.
  • Create and manage social media content related to the volunteer service, including volunteer recruitment campaigns and celebration posts that showcase impact and engagement.
  • Maintain impact reports and case studies to reflect the pathway to independent and purposeful living for residents.
  • Develop a volunteer development programme to encourage, reward and recognise volunteers.
  • Develop a corporate volunteering strategy.
  • Responsible for Safeguarding Volunteers as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for this function
  • Develop partnerships to support residents into work experience and employment.
  • Uphold consistent standards of volunteer care across each Service to ensure volunteers are scheduled, supported, and supervised during their shift.
  • Participate in event subgroups to support with recruitment of volunteers
  • Responsible for leading the team of volunteers and employees to deliver a relationship focused service for Adults and Families at Risk
  • Process and verify appropriate DBS checks for volunteers.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and evaluating of the volunteer and activity related outcomes.
  • Assess risk and provide documentation relevant for activities.
  • Be the gatekeeper of a high standard of Safeguarding training before commencement of the volunteer roles and plan in yearly refresher.
  • Conduct 6 monthly volunteer engagement surveys to collate anonymous information to help shape the volunteer strategy.  Take responsibility for communicating the results, actions and reviewing progress against actions.
  • Be an active part of the management team to support the Charity strategic goals.
